   This is to bring to your notice a incident like Aman Kachroo at A Dental College in Mathura. A First year boy was mercilessly beaten by the entire batch of Second year students. The incident happened on 26/02/2009 ,When this was broght to the notice of authorities instead of taking quick action they just suspended the classes and told students to vacate the hostel without giving any time. The boy was left on his own and dropped at the bust station to go to home on his own despite lot of injuries.
   Though later on the college has proposed to expell the main culprit but no action has been taken so far,rather they have created situation in which the boy is thinking of withdrawing from the college, which not only is going to bolden the culprits but also putting the juniors ( who reported the matter ) in a dangerous situation. The senior involved is believed to be highly connected politically.

   Through this forum we would like to put pressure on the management to do the needful.

   sir, where was the warden WHEN THE SENIORS WERE DOING THIS AND WHY THE PRINCIPAL SANKHYAN didn,t take any action even after knowing all this if he took action at that time when the students reported then this time couldn,t be in front of us ,sir it had come to know that the students had given a writren application which was signed by12-13 freshers that nthe seniors are ragging them even then the principal did,nt take any action

   The TV show “Dadagiri” aired on UTV Bindass is being promoted as a show where “four students will be chosen to revisit the horrors of being bullied on the first day of college by giving a physical, brain, and compete with each other. There will be three ‘dadas’ in three rounds, and the survivor will be declared the winner, who will receive a prize money of Rs 50 lakhs.”

   The show clearly validates ragging. Worse still, it says, here’s your opportunity to show yourself as better. The better ‘beast’ to use their own term.

   In order for ragging to go, shows like this that glorify it must go too. I saw the show about an hour, and since then have started a petition on the website address given, and on facebook. Let’s please do something to take this off air!!

   I went to Gujarat University in 1980s and I must say that ragging is unheard of there. It was a very pleasant experience meeting with seniors in my engineering college. I guess rest of India can learn from colleges in Gujarat.
   As to the raggers, you should hire local gundas, pay them well and let them take care of the seniors if the authorities do not do antyhing.

    plz don’t reveal my e mail id . I am been ragged 3 times by seniors , who told me to propose another senior and to my male class mate and told me to open my shoes . I was lucky to get out without much ragging . others suffered . help me that was my 2 nd day.

    Even after all the measures taken by the Government,raging is being done in the name of introduction or personality development.In Jaipur’s IIIM management college (now ISIM,) ragging is being promoted by the college management and staff!
    Freshers are made to come early and stay after college hours for ragging. Even though the college has a uniform still seniors are asking freshers to dress funnily and college staff permits it!
    Teachers have left first year students on the mercy of seniors.we are being humilated.Please help us
